About DNAs Farm

At DNA'S Farm we strive to care for our animals as naturally as possible, allowing them the freedom of grazing on over 70 acres. They are rotationally grazed during spring/summer/fall and have access to the outdoors year-round. They seldom choose to come into the barn, winter or summer, except to access water, as they are a hearty breed which have adapted to withstand harsh weather conditions. While our highlands have a lot of space to roam, we want to have a connection with them, so as a family we choose to spend time with them. They are an amazingly gentle and docile breed with whom we build relationships. Taking care of the highlands is not just a job, but a family affair, with everyone piling on the tractor together to bring them hay, gathering and feeding them carrots or apples, as well as just going out to check on them and see how they are doing. It is truly a family farm.
We raise our highlands organically and look for natural supplements when needed. The meat is consistently marbled and naturally lower cholesterol than supermarket beef.

Some tid bits about highland beef

Highland beef is a slow maturing beef. Typically prime age for butcher is 30 months. The slow growth creates a premium beef with rich, unique flavour and supreme marbling throughout.

Grass-fed Highland beef is lower in fat and cholesterol and higher in protein and iron when comparing to the average of other typical beef breeds.
